On World Kidney Day, Shalby Hospital Indore aimed to make people aware of kidney disorders and their consequences. For this reason, the hospital’s kidney disease specialist, Dr. Asad Riyaz informed people of Indore that chronic kidney disease means a gradual loss of kidney function over time. He shared the startling statistics that around 85 crore people across the globe suffer from kidney disease. One out of every ten people become the victim of chronic kidney disease and every year more than 20 lakh people die because of kidney failure.
He also gave a vital piece of information that kidney disease has five stages. Unfortunately, people get dignosed too lately often in the 4th and 5th stages making the treatment difficult for doctors and leaving them with no other option than dialysis or kidney transplant.
