32 years old Mr. Gopal is from Dholpur, which is around 275 km from Jaipur in Rajasthan. He is a teacher by profession. For a long time, he had severe pain in his joints and great difficulty in movement. The condition of his right hip joint was so bad that there was no movement in it at all. This was due to a rare condition called ankylosing spondylitis wherein joints of the body are fused, that is the movement is severely restricted.
The condition of his right hip was so bad that Gopalji was not able to sit properly for 20 years. He had consulted a number of doctors and hospitals but was told that it was a very complex case and surgery was not possible. Knowing that Shalby Hospitals Jaipur is the number 1 hospital in orthopedics and joint diseases, he consulted Dr. Dheeraj Dubay, a Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon at Shalby Hospitals Jaipur.
Gopalji’s case was very challenging. Dr. Dubay accepted this difficult challenge and performed his hip joint replacement surgery with a unique double window exposure technique using a dual mobility cup. Gopalji’s right hip is treated now, and Dr. Dubay will perform surgery on his left hip soon. He will be able to walk and sit normally after this surgery is done.
As Mr. Gopal shares his experience, he is full of appreciation for Dr. Dheeraj Dubay and Shalby Hospitals Jaipur.
