Today, when we’re living an unhealthy lifestyle, lack of exercise and gorging on a poor diet, things can go absolutely wrong. Hypertension is one of the most common conditions incited by such a lifestyle causing nearly million deaths across the world. It’s a serious disease sans symptoms in the initial stage and with lack of awareness.
When the flow of blood flowing through the arteries is too strong, it is known as Hypertension. It is a serious medical condition and synonymous with High Blood Pressure. It is also known as a risk factor for heart attack, stroke, heart disease, and heart failure.
Around 01 in 03 Indian adults have High Blood Pressure. It can occur in children also but probabilities are low. In India, as per 2016 figures, 23.10 % men and 22.60 % women above the age of 25 years are battling with hypertension.
Hypertension is expected to be endemic in near future with the rise in HBP population in both urban and rural areas in India. But thank god, modern medications and treatments can treat this condition. Still, there is a dire need to rethink our lifestyles in today’s competitive and ambitious world. So, shut off the inactive lifestyle and take care of your health after all “Health is Wealth.”
