Shalby’s Joint Replacements give new lease of Life to a Mother-in-law & Daughter-in-law Duo
Posted On: March 26, 2018

In a rare of its kinds, Shalby Hospital recently happened to help two members of the same family to regain their happiness. And interestingly, this happened to be a mother-in-law & daughter-in-law duo, hailing from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.
The mother-in-law, Mrs. Bimla Bafna, is 72 years old while her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Anita Bafna, is in her early 50s. Anita had been suffering from hip joint problems following a kidney transplant in the year 2011. As the pain started affecting her movements and quality of life, she finally decided to undergo a hip replacement surgery.
She underwent her left hip replacement surgery at the hands of experts at Shalby Hospitals on March 15, 2018. And will now go for the right hip replacement on a later date as suggested by the experts at Shalby.
While Mrs. Anita was undergoing the treatment, she made it a point to help her mother-in-law to overcome her knee pain for which the surgeries were overdue. Mrs. Bimla was never comfortable with the recommended bilateral knee surgery, as she feared that the surgery might fail. However, both her daughter-in-law and son could build trust in her based on their experience at Shalby.
Finally, she took the decision and underwent the Bilateral Knee Replacement at Shalby between 18th and 21st March 2018. They both were admitted in the same room which helped them exploring a new side of their relation and embarked on the journey of recovery, together.
Sharing her experience, Mrs. Bimla Bafna stated, "I have undergone Bilateral Knee Replacement at Shalby between 18th and 21st March, 2018, inspired by my daughter-in-law and son. Anita, after her left hip replacement, is also doing fine. We are in the same room at Shalby, fast recovering from the surgeries. The doctor team and supporting staff here are very co-operative and comforting. We are enjoying a real good experience of life, recovering from illness in the company of each other."
