Dr. G. R. Verma

Dr. G. R. Verma is a renowned gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgeon with over four decades of rich clinical and academic experience. A pioneer in minimally invasive surgery, he has made remarkable contributions to GI and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery in India. An alumnus of King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, and PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Verma later headed the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at PGIMER before joining Shalby Hospital, Mohali.

He introduced Day Care Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery, and the innovative “Bikini Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy” — a cosmetic, scar-free surgical technique. Known for his precision, compassion, and mentorship, Dr. Verma continues to inspire the next generation of surgeons while providing exceptional patient care.
