Acute Dialysis Catheter Insertion

Acute Dialysis Catheter is used for short-term dialysis in patients with kidney failure. These catheters are typically inserted into large veins in the neck, chest, or groin. They provide an immediate access point for hemodialysis when kidney function deteriorates rapidly.

• Used in emergency situations or for short-term dialysis needs.

Permcath Insertions (Tunneled Dialysis Catheters)

Permcath is a type of tunneled dialysis catheter designed for long-term use. It is inserted into a large vein, usually in the chest, with a portion tunneled under the skin to reduce infection risk.

• Lower infection rates compared to non-tunneled catheters.

Kidney Biopsies

Kidney Biopsies involve taking a small sample of kidney tissue to diagnose kidney conditions. The biopsy is typically performed using a needle inserted through the skin under imaging guidance.

AV Fistula Creation

AV Fistula (Arteriovenous Fistula) creation involves connecting an artery to a vein, usually in the arm, to create a durable access point for hemodialysis.

• Takes weeks to months to mature before it can be used.
• Offers better blood flow rates and longevity compared to other access methods.

AV Graft Creation

AV Graft is an alternative to AV fistula, where a synthetic tube is used to connect an artery to a vein. This provides a solution for patients whose veins are not suitable for a fistula.

• Useful for patients with small or weak veins.
• Can be used sooner than a fistula, usually within 2-3 weeks.
• Higher risk of infection and clotting compared to AV fistulas.

Fistulograms and AVF Salvage Procedures – Thrombolysis

Fistulograms are imaging tests used to evaluate the functionality of AV fistulas and grafts. AVF Salvage Procedures involve interventions to restore or maintain the patency of these dialysis accesses.
Thrombolysis is a specific procedure to dissolve blood clots within a fistula or graft.
