Common Urology Problems In Males

Almost all men are likely to face some kind of urological problem as a result of aging, injury, illness, or birth defect. When such problems arise men need to seek the advice of the best urologist in India so that the problem doesn’t persist and turn into something bigger in impact.

Some of the most common problems for which men approach the best urologist in India are listed below:

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

BPH is a condition where the prostate enlarges and is most common in older men. Symptoms of BPH can include:

  • Difficulty initiating urination
  • Weak urination stream
  • Dribbling at the end of urination
  • Frequent urge to urinate
  • Feeling of fullness in the bladder due to incomplete urination

Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Erectile dysfunction is a condition in which a man experiences a problem in achieving or maintaining an erection. This can be treated with medication, testosterone replacement, surgery, psychological counseling sessions, acupuncture, and by making certain lifestyle changes such as losing weight, quitting smoking, exercise and reducing stress.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

Cloudy urine and burning sensation during urination are usually signs of a urinary tract infection. A urologist will suggest a urine test to make sure it is a case of UTI and might prescribe antibiotics for the treatment.

Prostatitis

Prostatitis is swelling and inflammation of the prostate and is a very common condition in men. Prostatitis symptoms include painful urination, fever, and chills, pain in the abdomen, pelvic area, or lower back. Antibiotics are usually prescribed in such a case.

Causes of male infertility are usually abnormal sperm production, undescended testicles, genetic defects, health problems including diabetes, prior infections such as mumps, trauma, or prior surgeries on the testicles.

Kidney stones

Kidney stones usually occur when minerals and other chemicals accumulate in the kidneys or in any part of the urinary tract. The stones can cause excruciating pain but this condition is very easily diagnosed. Treatment for kidney stones depends on how many stones, or how big the stones are and where they are located.

Vasectomy

Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for a permanent contraception need. Vasectomies don’t usually require hospitalization.

Prostate Cancer

A second leading cause of cancer death in men is prostate cancer. Prostate cancer begins when the cells start multiplying in the gland uncontrollably and very quickly. Age, race, and family history are noted to be some of the main risk factors. The only key to treating prostate cancer successfully is early detection and constant medical guidance.

If you feel that you might be affected by any of the mentioned diseases, consult a urologist in Ahmedabad and get yourself an early treatment plan for easy and quick recovery.
