Shalby’s Revision Spine Surgery Does Wonders For Mr. Hamza from Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
Posted On: February 23, 2018
Mr. Hamza Mohmed Ahmed Elgabri has been living in Dar- Es- Salaam, Tanzania for more than two decades. On October 28, 2016; he underwent a spine surgery in Jordan. However, he continued battling the post operative pain. To overcome the pain, he started taking supportive and rehabilitation treatments such as Physiotherapy, Nerve Ablation Radiofrequency therapy and medications. But much to his dismay, nothing could really help him combat the pain and discomfort.
The pain started affecting his mobility and restricted him from undertaking many day-to-day activities. As he continued his battle with the pain, he happened to meet Dr. Niraj Vasavada, Head, Department of Spine, Shalby Hospitals, Ahmedabad, during a medical camp in Tanzania.
Dr. Niraj Vasavada, suggested Mr. Hamza to undergo detailed investigations. The outcome of the investigations helped Dr. Niraj to find out the root cause of the problem and recommended for a revision surgery. Mr. Hamza underwent the revision spine surgery on February 13, 2018 and he was completely elated with the treatment results. He was able to walk right after two days of the surgery and the pain also subsided!
Sharing his experience with Shalby Hospitals as well as Dr. Niraj and his team, comprising Dr. Prateek Lodha, Spine Surgeon, Mr. Hamza said, "My health was very much affected in terms of mobility and reduction in activities. In February 2018, I met Dr. Niraj Vasavada, Head, and Department of Spine in a medical camp in Tanzania. He recommended for detailed investigations which resulted in his finding the root cause of the pain. Following this, Dr. Niraj advised for a revision surgery which took place at Shalby on February 13, 2018. Just two days after the surgery, I started walking with ease and the pain has subsided considerably!
I am very happy the way Shalby treats patients with professionalism and human compassion. Dr. Niraj and his team, comprising Dr. Prateek Lodha, Spine Surgeon, are very competent, and committed to patients. He paid a visit to me almost every day, including a weekly off day- Sunday. Calm and patient, the staffs attend to every need of patients and quickly comply with their requirements. Back home, I will gladly share my experiences at Shalby for the benefit of the community."
