All You Need To Know About Hypertension & Associated Health Risks

Definition

When the flow of blood flowing through the arteries is too strong, it is known as Hypertension. It is a serious medical condition and synonymous with High Blood Pressure. It is also known as a risk factor for heart attack, stroke, heart disease, and heart failure.

Around 01 in 03 Indian adults have High Blood Pressure. It can occur in children also but probabilities are low. In India, as per 2016 figures, 23.10 % men and 22.60 % women above the age of 25 years are battling with hypertension.
