Shalby Hospitals, has added another feather in its cap by winning the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award 2010, instituted by the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
The award was presented to Dr. Vikram Shah, Chairman, Shalby Hospitals, by Prof. K.V. Thomas, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution at the award distribution ceremony held on April 18, 2012 in Delhi.
Shalby is the only hospital in entire Western India to receive the National Award in Large Scale Service Sector. The Award was launched by the Bureau of Indian Standards in way back in 1991, with a view to encourage Indian manufacturing and service organizations to strive for excellence and give special recognition to those who are considered to be the leaders of quality movement in India.
The award winners were selected from 64 contenders from various sectors after vigorous evaluation by a group of qualified and trained professionals from different spheres of intellectual activity. The selection of the award winners was done on the basis of nine parameters namely leadership quality; policies, objectives and strategies; human resource management; resources; processes; customer-focused results; employees’ satisfaction; impact on environment and society and business results.
The award has been named after our Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, recognizing the new thrust he had given to the quality movement in India so that India could move into 21st Century with pride. The award has been designed in line with similar awards in other developed countries, like Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in USA, Deming Prize in Japan and European Quality Award.

Shalby Hospitals Ahmedabad Honored as Technosavvy SME and Best Performing SME of the Year in the Life Sciences Sector by CNBC TV 18 & ICICI Bank Emerging India Awards 2012
The award function was presided by Hon Central Minister for Information Technology Shri Sachin Pilot, Shri Rahul Bajaj, Leading Industrialist, Ms Rupa Kudva, MD and Chief Executive of CRISIL and Chanda Kochhar, CEO of ICICI bank in a function held in Taj Lands, Mumbai.
Felicitating the best in India’s SME segment CNBC TV 18 and ICICI Bank picked 18 of the best small and medium sized enterprises in different categories from over 1,25,000 applicants. The selection process was powered by analytics company CRISIL, one of the best the Credit Rating Agency of India.

Leaders of Tomorrow Award - 2011
Shalby Hospital Ahmedabad has received ET Now India Mart "Leaders of Tomorrow Award 2011" in Healthcare & Biotech Category at Award Function held in Mumbai. The award was presented by Infosys Chief Mentor Shri Narayan Murthy. Ernst & Young was the process advisor.
The award is given to small and medium enterprises every year on the basis of various parameters like financial health, operational excellence, patient feedback, unique processes, innovative practices and feedback of the clients amongst others.
FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award - 2011
Shalby has received FICCI Operational Excellence Award, 2011. 135 hospitals from all over India were in the race. The jury was headed by the former Chief Justice of India Justice R C Lahoti. The other jury members were prominent doctors, academicians and prominent healthcare professionals. The awards were presented at a glittering function on the evening of 8th September in New Delhi.
The announcement that Shalby Hospital was the winner made everyone take note of the hospital group from Gujarat; which has consistently delivered quality care to patients from all over the world. The CMD of Shalby Hospitals Dr Vikram Shah and Director Dr Darshini V Shah received the award at the hands of Mr Harish Mariwala, FICCI President and Chairman MARICO group and Mr Mukesh Chawla, President, World Bank, Human Development.
Best Maintained Public Space Award by GIHED - 2011
Shalby Hospitals awarded as the Best Hospital-Ahmedabad in Best Building Category ( Best Maintained Public Space) in GIHED Awards 2011.
The award was presented by Anandiben Patel, Minister of State, Gujarat in glittering ceremony held at Gujarat University Exhibition Hall.
Shalby was selected best among 8 other nominees from the hospital category.
